Captain Nautica Power Rafting
Half Day Snorkel Tours
The great thing about half day tours: Do you ever feel like to you need to take a vacation from your vacation. Half day snorkel excursions with Captain Nautica Power Rafting allow you to see the very best in premier snorkel destinations that the Virgin Islands have to offer with a whole lot less energy. A half day tour gives you time in the morning to get your day started or time in the afternoon to sit back relax or even do other true thrill seeking sports such as SHOPPING. A half day tour is also great for family’s with children that would rather not be on a boat for a full day and would rather have some time to enjoy other activities or relax in their resorts pool.
Another advantage about half day tours is the cost!! Half day tours are much more affordable then a full day excursion. A half day Captain Nautica excursion is $70 per person for adults and children. Bringing some extra cash is always a good idea. Captain Nautica long and short sleeve t-shirts, visors, and waterproof digital cameras will be made available for sale and/or rental by the crew. Optional gratuity is always greatly appreciated as well.
Why Captain Nautica? Our high speed power rafts allow us much greater range than most other snorkel tours on the island. So on a half day excursion not only is the ride itself exciting, but our speed allows us to give our guests more time in the water snorkeling, and less time on the boat waiting to snorkel. Captain Nautica’s fleet of 5 Power Rafting Vessels offer full shaded bimini tops and Fresh Water Shower to rinse down.
Are there any age or weight requirements? The minimum age for our tour is 5 years old. Parents of young children should be aware that Captain Nautica is an exciting boat ride and may be bumpy. There are no weight limits on the tour, however, to get back on the boat from the water, guests should consider their physical ability to be able to climb a vertical swim ladder.
How long does it take? The tour is a half-day snorkeling excursion, which normally lasts about 3 ½ hours. Not to long and not to short. The perfect vacation excursion!! Our Morning departure is from 8:30 to 12:00 and the afternoon departure is from 12:30 to 4:00 daily.
What do we provide? We will provide all of the snorkeling equipment including mask, snorkel, fins, and snorkel vest along with expert instruction from our knowledgeable staff. We also provide sodas and bottled water during the tour as well as fresh fruit and shrimp cocktail. T-shirts, visors, and waterproof cameras will be available to purchase. We will also provide dry storage for personal items.
What do the guest need to bring? Bathing suit and towel are a must. If guests have their own snorkel gear, they may choose to bring that. If not, snorkel gear will be provided. Guests may wish to bring money for t-shirts, waterproof cameras and optional gratuity for crew. Also, don’t forget to wear sunscreen.
Are there any special considerations? Depending on the weather and wave height, the ride can be a little bit bumpy. If you are suffering from chronic back problems, or have had back or hip surgery recently, our tour might not be for you. It is also preferable if you are relatively comfortable in the water.
How many people per boat? Our high speed power rafts are certified by the US Coast Guard to carry up to 25 passengers, however, we limit the tour to no more than 20 guests to ensure everyone’s comfort.
Where do you go? Because of the speed of our boats, our options for premier snorkel sites are numerous and vary daily to keep things interesting. Little St. James Reef, Christmas Cove at Great St. James Island, Inner and Outer Brass, Hans Lolick, Turtle Cove Buck Island, Shipwreck Cove Buck Island, and Capella Island are only a few of our many options. Guests are guaranteed a minimum of two premier stops usually lasting at least an hour each. Site selection is usually done the day of the tour and is based upon the weather and preference of the guests.
Were can we be picked up? We pick up at the Coral World dock on Coki Point or Sapphire Marina. Alternative pick up spots may be available for larger groups.
